Txai Bar

AAI Asociación de Arquitectos e Interioristas,2nd Place in Recreational and Leisure Spaces. Mexico, 2015.

The vestibule forms in a simple way with preexisting gray brick walls and multiple and long electrical extension topped by dark brown bakelite sockets with incandescent bulbs of low voltage that offer a singular welcome to the party people. The access hallway shows in a confusing but fun way with really small rectangular mirrors glued to oblicuos walls forming infinite reflections. Going thru this 2 meter high mirror wall you find yourself in the principal nave that has 8 meters of altitude. The main space is formed by the circular dancing floor bringing back the 80’s nightclubs, around the dancing floor there are 4 modern canopies that give exclusive resting areas; the predominating color is white that mimics the colorful lights immediately with the space luminosity. The jewel of the place is the 44 lineal meter and 360 degree screen that gets all the attention of the visitors and commemorates every night the heart of the place: music plus video. The night is complete, while thousands of white silky threads strut with the people’s passing and by the unreached rhythm of the 16 bits per second music, cut one by one, each thread forms a curvilinear perimeter throughout the space that never ceases to dance.
